Encuestum

Encuestum is your own Typeform + Forms + AI grader, running on your server. It is a self-hosted, open-source, multi-tenant platform for surveys and assessments with AI-assisted grading. Anyone with the link answers in the browser; teachers generate questions from a document and grade open answers with AI; companies measure NPS with funnel analytics. It ships as a single Docker image and uses your own AI API key — never ours (there is no “ours”).

Encuestum is the forms-and-assessment specialist of the Escriba Suite. It runs standalone, or federates its login with Lockatus (the Suite’s SSO) so it slots into the wider self-hosted ecosystem without a second set of credentials.

Self-hosted by design

Encuestum is not a SaaS that stores your respondents’ data on someone else’s servers. It runs in your own infrastructure, talks to the AI provider you choose with the key you own, and can keep uploads in your own object storage.

What it does

Drag-and-drop editor

A visual builder with live preview, ready-made templates (NPS, feedback, event sign-up, course evaluation, quiz…) and autosave — you never lose work.

14 question types

Text, choice, dropdown, scale / NPS (6 presentations), yes/no, image-choice, matrix, ranking, date, file upload and video answers recorded by webcam, Typeform-style.

AI generation & grading

Generate questions from a topic or an uploaded document, and grade open answers with a hybrid rubric + LLM engine — score, verdict, feedback and cited evidence, prompt-injection aware.

Serious access control

Public, PIN-protected or allow-listed by email — each person with a unique code and magic link. Plus scheduling (open/close dates, quota) and an invisible proof-of-work captcha against bots.

Design in another league

One-click themes, dark mode, Google Fonts, glass cards, per-question styling, background images and music — and a conversational (chat) mode with 9 one-click skins, Typebot-style.

Results & analytics

Per-question charts, a conversion funnel (views → started → completed), CSV / Excel export, signed webhooks, and an exam mode with a gradebook and printable certificate.

Ecosystem role

Encuestum owns surveys and assessments so the rest of the Suite does not have to. By default it uses local accounts; set AUTH_MODE=federado and it delegates login to Lockatus, the Suite’s OIDC SSO (unified login + 2FA + roles) — the hub provides the identity and Encuestum creates the user and their organization on first sign-in. Object uploads (videos, attachments) can live in Cloudflare R2 / S3, served same-origin from a private bucket. It is a first-class self-hosted citizen of the Escriba Suite 🫒.
